Bryn and Gelli Panel Unveiling
Llanelli Community Heritage's latest panel was formally unveiled on Friday, 6th March by our local MP, Nia Griffith. Luckily for us the sun was shining, and the thirty plus members and friends who attended the unveiling were happy to pose for the photographs. They look happy too despite a chilly wind."People sometimes forget as they see our town today," said Nia, "that Llanelli was founded on coal long before the tinplate and steelworks came along." She was highlighting one of the subjects featured on our latest Interpretive Panel commemorating the history of the area around The Bryn.
The panel stands on the Gelli Road at the junction with Trallwm Road on a green beside the bus stop, so passengers waiting for a bus will have a great opportunity to bone up on the history that surrounds them. Click here for a close up of the panel
