Llanelly House Meeting
The Llanelly House team are meeting local groups, societies and schools to inform people of the aims of the Llanelly House project and to seek local knowledge and opinion to ensure success of this major venture for the town of Llanelli.
This is a two way collaborative process before the opening of Llanelly House this summer (2013).
Members of Llanelli Community Heritage met Linda Coode, House Manager, and Catherine Stewart, Historical Content Developer, to exchange ideas and discuss options for helping one another in the redevelopment of Llanelli town centre.
Linda, who started with Llanelly House in November 2012, is qualified in Industrial Archaeology and has a Diploma in Museum Management. She has many years' experience including Aberystwyth and Gloucester Museums and has had experience working for the National Trust. She is responsible to Carmarthenshire Heritage Regeneration Trust and the trustees of Llanelly House. Catherine started as a volunteer with Llanelly House and is now employed as the Historical Content Developer.
An interesting afternoon was spent with Linda and Catherine explaining the aims of Llanelly House and LCH in return showing what they contribute to the town's heritage and how, along with other groups, we can help with the success of the project.
